Collection Technique

1. Clean collections pen *
2. Trim boars prepuce hair *
3.  Are you using a warm up pen? *  
4. Evacuate prepuce fluid prior to boar being put into collection pen *
5. Double glove technique- paper towel to wipe off boar * .
6. Cup in clean warmer *
7. Angle of penis to cup 90 degrees *
8. Don’t collect  first contaminate spray of semen *
9. Collecting seminal plasma?  ( Helps sperm rich with its fertility) *
10. Cup to lab - clean – not squeezing filter – speed (max 3 to 5 min from semen entering lab)  - temp. more than 34 C *.
